There’s a big update on the #FreeBritney movement after today’s court hearing about Britney Spears‘ conservatorship. Britney‘s dad Jamie Spears objected to the appointment of Bessemer Trust Co.

as the co-conservator of the singer’s estate, which happened back in November. During that same hearing, the judge denied Britney‘s request to have her father removed from the conservatorship entirely.

In a hearing on Thursday (February 11), the subject was a proposed order from Britney‘s attorney that put the new co-conservatorship into effect. Jamie‘s lawyer objected to the co-conservatorship because it “improperly reduced his powers over his daughter’s estate,” according to Variety.
