Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes (born 8 September 1994) is a Portuguese footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Sporting CP and the Portugal national team as a midfielder. Fernandes started his career at Serie B side Novara Calcio and soon featured for Udinese and Sampdoria in Serie A.
In 2017, he signed with Sporting CP where he established himself as one of the best players in the Primeira Liga. He was named the LPFP Primeira Liga Player of the Year in both 2017–18 and 2018–19. In the latter season, he also helped Sporting win the Taça de Portugal. A senior international since 2017, Fernandes represented Portugal at the 2016 Summer Olympics and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Manchester United have been linked with moves for a number of young English talents in recent weeks, and they are thought to lead the race for at least one of them.
The success of Bruno Fernandes at Old Trafford isn’t giving United any reason to slow down in adding midfield reinforcements to their squad, according to the bookies - especially those who can contribute in the final third.
That’s why they are 6/4 to add Jack Grealish to their squad, with the midfielder enjoying an impressive first season back in the Premier League with Aston Villa.
Grealish, still only 24, is Villa’s top scorer this season with seven league goals - the best single-season return of his career so far.
