Ayrshire company's 'Buster' dummy is fun way of thanking frontline staff
The Irvine Herald's photographer Steve McKendrick did a double take after seeing this Irvine iron works ‘employee’ spreading a very special lockdown message to the town the other day. Dain Art’s Buster the dummy is dressed to the nines in his protective gear holding a colourful ‘Bless the NHS’ sign atop a hut. Owner Eric Dainert found Buster at the skip and gave him a new home at his business premises based at the town’s Kyle Road. Eric’s daughter, Claire Dainert said: “Normally, Buster sits outside on a chair holding a mobile phone and an Irn-Bru and at Christmas he is dressed as Santa. “A lot of customers think he’s a real person until they get closer. “It’s just a wee bit of fun and Buster has become a fixture at the shop."
