Ex-Rangers coach lifts the lid on World Cup winner 'mentor' role at Caledonian Braves
Caledonian Braves boss Ricky Waddell believes World Cup winner Pierre Mankowski will be the perfect “mentor” at Alliance Park. The former Lille boss was number two to Raymond Domenech and Jacques Santini for Les Blues for over eight years as he worked alongside the likes of Patrick Viera, Thierry Henry and Zinedine Zidane.Mankowski would then go on to work in the French youth set-up helping to develop talents including Paul Pogba, Samuel Umtiti and Kurt Zouma. Now, the Frenchman is working as a football advisor at the Lowland League side after building a good relationship with owner Chris Ewing and coaching in the youth set-up during the Edusport Academy days, before the move to Lanarkshire.
