Dunblane's Andy Butchart to run in European Athletics Indoor Championship

Join thousands of others who have signed up to our Record Sport newsletter.Dunblane Olympian Andy Butchart has been selected to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun, Poland, next month.He lost to Jack Rowe at the European Indoor selection trials when Rowe caught him on the last lap of the 3000 metres in Manchester but he was always a cert for selection.Recently he lowered his own Scottish 3000 meters record in the opening World Indoor Tour leg in Karlsruhe, clocking 7:40.85 to move him into second behind Mo Farah in the all-time UK indoor rankings.Great Britain and Northern Ireland will have a 41-strong squad
