A teenage boy with learning difficulties was hit by taxi in Salford - and then had his bike stolen by the driver

James Barrell, 15, was cycling along Langworthy Road when he was hit by a silver Ford Mondeo taxi on Sunday night (July 19).The driver demanded the Buile Hill Academy pupil hand over his mountain bike as compensation for the damage caused to his wing mirror.Frantic and refusing to hand over his bike, the driver snatched it from his grasp, pushing James and his friend over in the process.The taxi driver then put the bike in the boot of his vehicle and drove away.James, who has ADHD, dyscalculia and Irlen Syndrome, was left with a badly-sprained hand and lumps and bruises to his shins following the incident.
