Nicola Sturgeon has urged Scots to perform an “act of kindness” to mark today’s St Andrew’s Day celebrations. The First Minister paid tribute to those making “enormous personal sacrifices” amid the coronavirus pandemic in an address to the nation earlier today.
Sturgeon encouraged people to reach out to their loved ones over the phone or online as restrictions look set to continue on for a “little longer”.
The SNP leader said: “COVID has challenged all of us in ways we could probably never have previously imagined and it is only by showing kindness and solidarity for one another that we’ve been able to cope.
