The Manchester United attacker was named in a 33-man squad by Gareth Southgate last week, with that list due to be whittled down to 26 today ahead of the summer's European Championship.
But Greenwood, 19, has taken his name out of contention to focus on recovering from a niggling injury that also forced him out of the England Under-21 squad for the group stages of their European Championship in March.
