Italy's prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, announced on Monday, March 9 that the entire country would be put on lockdown in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. As part of the quarantine measure, residents have been told to avoid traveling outside of areas where they live unless they can prove it is for a medical or work emergency, NBC News reports. Businesses are also required to close by dusk.
