Airdrie residents create poignant Remembrance displays
Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.Two Airdrie churches have created poignant Remembrance displays through a special project involving community members of all ages.Linked parishes Cairnlea and Calderbank have each created outdoor Remembrance areas comprising dozens of stones individually painted with poppies and designs honouring the fallen.The display at Cairnlea can be seen from its Graham Street entrance and includes contributions from pupils at Tollbrae Primary; while youngsters at both Calderbank and Corpus Christi primaries added their artwork to the garden at the church on Main Street in their village.Rev Peter Donald, the churches’ minister, told the Airdrie and Coatbridge
