direct to your inboxA woman has admitted the manslaughter of her baby daughter.Caitlin Jones was initially charged with the murder of eight-month-old Francesca Haworth, but pleaded guilty to manslaughter at Preston Crown Court today, police said.Baby Francesca died in hospital after she was found unresponsive by the ambulance service at an address in Frederick Street, Blackpool, on November 7 2018.A Home Office post-mortem examination found the cause of her death was suffocation.Jones, 21, was charged with murder in July last year but her plea of guilty to manslaughter was accepted following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said.She was released on bail and will be sentenced in June.
