Brave Largs gran, 54, in race against time for eye cancer treatment which is her 'only hope'
Ayrshire gran is on a race against time to save her life by finishing vital treatment for a rare form of eye cancer.Elaine Maltby, 54, has already lost one eye due the incurable disease and needs £140,000 to complete life-prolonging treatment which is not available on the NHS.The former NHS dental health worker has been battling a rare form of eye cancer called Ocular Melanoma for almost four years.Her only hope has been a treatment known as Chemosaturation Therapy with each round of the specialist procedure costing £40,000 and up to six are required.Elaine, from Largs, has so far managed to raise £100,000 to begin the treatment which involves recycling blood from the liver.She started her treatment at the Spire Hospital in Southampton,
