Austin police identify victim in officer-involved shooting as more purported videos emerge
The Austin Police Department identified the suspect killed in this week’s officer-involved shooting as 27-year-old Alexander Gonzales as more videos purportedly showing the fatal encounter are emerging. The shooting that unfolded early Tuesday morning was the second such incident of its kind over a period of less than 24 hours – and questions remain Wednesday surrounding the events leading up to the gunfire. Austin Police Chief Brian Manley is appealing to the public for more information following an officer-involved shooting there Tuesday morning.
