straight to your inboxFormer City boss Mark Hughes says he would have found it “very difficult” to ask for help as a young football player.The ex-Manchester United player says there were times when he felt anxious about his future and his career and though he never felt “in danger” he admits “support wasn’t there”.Mr Hughes OBE is currently backing a campaign with other managers to raise awareness of a training programme designed to help people spot the signs of suicide and suicidal thoughts.The Shining a Light on Suicide campaign aims to encourage conversation about mental health.It’s being delivered by the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership with backing from trade union, the League Managers Association (LMA).LMA members
