Steam Deck now supports Easy Anti-Cheat games

Valve has released an update to developers that announced Easy Anti-Cheat is now compatible with Steam Deck software.A post from Valve provides details of the support and should allow many games to be supported on the Steam Deck with minimal input from the developers.“Our team has been working with Epic on Easy Anti-Cheat + Proton support over the last few months, and we’re happy to announce that adding Steam Deck support to your existing EAC games is now a simple process, and doesn’t require updating game binaries, SDK versions, or integration of EOS. Alongside our BattlEye updates from last year, this means that the two largest anti-cheat services are now easily supported on Proton and Steam Deck.”The post also includes a link for developers using BattlEye or Easy Anti-Cheat to follow, with documentation on how to enable Proton support (via PCGamesN).“Related to this, we’re going to start submitting Deck Verified test data for tested titles that use anti-cheat middleware on Monday, January 24.

New ‘Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’ update adds Riptide changes

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, the popular FPS from Valve Corporation, has just added some Operation Riptide changes in a new update.The new update adds themed autograph capsules, a new music kit, and a whole batch of changes to two Counter-Strike: Global Offensive maps – Insertion II and Extraction.The patch, which went live yesterday on November 9, tweaked both of these maps which were added as part of the Operation Riptide update.Extraction gets the biggest number of updates, including:Insertion II gets far fewer updates, but significantly the hostage rescue zone has been tweaked.

Steam rejects ‘Holodexxx’ VR sex experience

Holodexxx, has been rejected by Steam after multiple attempts at submission from developers.Steam called the game “video pornography”, according to a recent blog post by Holodexxx. In its first iteration, Holodexxx featured a nudity-free “PG-13” experience.A virtual model of actor Riley Reid was used in the first version, along with other fully-scanned female actors.Steam also rejected Super Seducer 3 earlier in the year on grounds of “sexually explicit images of real people”, although Holodexxx claims the exact reasoning of the rejection of their game remains unclear.The second attempt at producing a publishable game was entitled Meet Marley, which was also rejected.
