Juan Mata's dad is closing his Manchester city centre tapas restaurant
fellow Spanish teammates David De Gea and Ander Herrera. It was established by husband and wife team Natalia Esquerdo and Nacho Perez with backing from Mata's dad Juan Manuel Mata Rodríguez.At the time of opening, they told the M.E.N that Mata and his father had ‘reached out’ to Natalia and Nacho to help create an authentic Spanish restaurant - because 'Juan’s father wasn’t completely sold on the Spanish food available in Manchester'.The couple left the restaurant later that year, handing the reins to Mata Snr and his business partner José Manuel Martínez García.
