Steve Clarke insists Scotland haven't taken a backward step despite defeat to Slovakia.Clarke's side missed the opportunity to win their Nations League section following a narrow 1-0 loss in Trnava.Jan Gregus' first-half strike condemned the Scots to a first defeat in 10 matches as the manager made eight changes from Thursday night's historic Euro 2020 play-off final win over Serbia.But Clarke was impressed with his team's display and believes they deserved more from the game.He told BBC Sportsound: "Listen, it's disappointing when your unbeaten run comes to an end but there's a way for it to come to an end."I thought the performance was good."We were a little bit wasteful, we had some decent chances.
