Anti-bullying campaign teacher battered drinking pal outside Scots pub
Perth Sheriff Court heard PE teacher Chaplin headed up an anti-bullying project at Calderglen High, East Kilbride.He had travelled to Perth with colleague Gregg Harvey on May 24 last year for an annual volleyball tournament.They had gone out drinking and ended up in the Half Moon bar where the 45-year-old victim was a regular.The three spent the first part of the evening chatting and buying each other drinks.But the court heard how the mood changed before Chaplin launched his vicious attack.Fiscal depute Lisa Marshall said: “The bar manager saw the accused and his friend at the bar and noticed the accused being noisy and swearing.
