Anger as vandals leave trail of destruction at Ayrshire football club
Saltcoats Victoria's ground yesterday afternoon causing around £1,000 worth of damage.They smashed up the club's tea room, stole gardening tools and left a trail of destruction with chairs and equipment dumped on the pitchside.The attack comes after a summer of improvements at Campbell Park.Officials at the West of Scotland League side have been working tirelessly to improve facilities on a tight budget - installing new containers acquired from neighbours Kilwinning Rangers.But they reckon the progress has simply made them a target for vandals.Now they are pinning their hopes on CCTV catching those responsible.Saltcoats vice-chairperson Miriam Wyllie said: "It's just so disheartening because all we want to do is make the ground better for
