MURDER, She Wrote star Ron Masak has died at the age of 86, his family has said. The actor's death came just days after his co-star in the hit detective series Angela Lansbury passed away. Masak, who played Sheriff Mort Metzger in the hit detective series, died in a hospital in Thousand Oaks, California on October 20.
