‘Briarpatch’ Canceled At USA Network After One Season, Showrunner Andy Greenwald Extends Overall Deal At UCP
Peter White Television EditorRosario Dawson-fronted drama Briarpatch is not returning for a second season.The freshman drama series has been canceled at USA Network after one season, a move which showrunner Andy Greenwald called a “bummer”.The show, which is based on the Ross Thomas novel, premiered in February. It started in a 10pm slot on Thursdays but was moved to Mondays at 11pm two weeks after its premiere.Briarpatch follows Allegra Dill (Dawson), a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered.
