Ubisoft says players will understand NFTs “in time”

Ubisoft’s Strategic Innovations Lab which oversees NFTs, has said that NFTs are for the players “but they don’t get it for now.”Ubisoft‘s NFT programmes; Quartz and now Digits, met with backlash from developers and players alike upon their reveals. Upset over the decision was so loud that CEO Yves Guillemot held a surprise meeting in support of its launch. The company further doubled down on its decision to pursue NFTs despite a very disappointing uptake.In an interview with Finder, Pouard elaborated on Ubisoft’s NFT goals and how he believes the strategy benefits the players, but that they lack the understanding of how it will work.

Ubisoft employees reportedly push back against blockchain initiatives

Ubisoft initiatives to implement NFTs via their programme Ubisoft Quartz, employees are reportedly pushing back.In a recent report by Bloomberg, several Ubisoft employees came forward to announce their displeasure with Ubisoft’s blockchain programme Quartz. This isn’t the first time employees stood up against the NFTs, Ubisoft calls Digits.

You can get the original ‘Ghost Recon’ for free from Ubisoft Connect

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Ubisoft is letting fans own the original game for free, as well as DLC (downloadable content) for the series’ sequels.As announced yesterday (October 5) via the official Ubisoft website, fans will be able to redeem Ghost Recon, as well as the Fallen Ghosts DLC for Wildlands and Deep State Adventure for Breakpoint for free via the Ubisoft Connect PC launcher.The offer runs from October 5 to October 11 but once redeemed, they can be downloaded and played anytime. The latter however are DLC giveaways, so players would still need to own the base version of Wildlands and Breakpoint.That’s not all.
