Extended members of the Queen’s family were seen at the Prince’s Vigil held at Westminster Hall this evening, Friday 16 September.The late monarch has been Lying-in-State in London since Wednesday and thousands of mourners have filed past to pay their final respects after queuing for hours.
Her Majesty the Queen’s four children came together for the sombre affair as they mounted guard at the four corners of the catafalque for 15 minutes.
All were in military uniform including Prince Andrew – who was stripped of his military titles last year – and Princess Anne, who the first woman to have taken part in the Vigil of the Princes.
It comes just four days after they participated in a vigil in St Giles’ Cathedral in Edinburgh. Unexpectedly, the likes of Zara and Mike Tindall, alongside the Queen Consort Camilla and Sophie, Countess of Wessex, were also in attendance.
