Aaron Judge has officially made baseball history! On Tuesday (October 4), the 40-year-old New York Yankees player hit his record-breaking 62 home run of the season against the Texas Rangers at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

With this home run, Aaron now holds the record for the most home runs in a single season in the American League. Click inside to read more… Aaron hit the home run at the top of the first inning into the left field seats.

The record was previously held by late Yankees player Roger Maris, who held the record with 61 home runs for, coincidentally, 61 years. Maris died in 1985. Aaron‘s 62nd home run comes nearly a week after he hit his record-tying 62st home run of the season against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday (September 28). Congrats, Judge!
