Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.
Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.
Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.
Work completed on car park extension at popular Scots beauty spot
dailyrecord.co.ukWork to expand car parking facilities at a popular rural beauty spot has been completed.Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) undertook a programme of work to add an additional 26 new parking bays at the car park at Ben A’an.Supported by the Rural Tourism Infrastructure Fund (RTIF), the work was one element of the Trossachs Visitor Management Project and has also seen the entire car park given a new stone surface.The RTIF bid was made in partnership with Steamship Sir Walter Scott Ltd at Loch Katrine, and friends of the loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.The car park serves the popular hillwalking route up Ben A’an and lies on the south side of the A821 west of Tigh Mor, Ben A’an and Brenachoile Woods Site of Special Scientific Interest – which lies around 300 metres to the west.
Loch Achray forms part of the River Teith Special Area of Conservation.The car park previously had provision for 30 vehicles.In previous years, routes surrounding the car park have been inundated with parked vehicles, particularly during busy summer months as tourists flock to the area.In October 2020, overcrowding and irresponsible parking was seen at a number of location, including at Ben A’an.It’s hoped that the increase in capacity will help to reduce traffic related issues caused by large numbers of visitors to the popular location.Sue Morris, FLS’ Area Visitor Services Manager, said: “The stunning landscape and views from Ben A’an draw thousands of visitors every year and on busy days this often led to quite heavy congestion and irresponsible parking on the approach roads to the car park.Click here for more news and sport from the Stirling area.“The expansion of the car park will help to ease this – at least in part – and make a visit
