Greater Manchester Police were called by the ambulance service to Castle Street, Edgeley at around 9.55am this morning. A woman in her twenties was taken to hospital.

Her injuries are not believed to be serious. A crime scene was put in place while police dealt with the incident. A GMP spokesperson said: "At 09:55 on May 16 police responded to a request from North West Ambulance to assist with an incident on Castle Street in Stockport. "A woman in her twenties has been taken to hospital, injuries are not believed to be serious. "Enquiries are ongoing."
