Woman arrested after 'corrosive substance' thrown at man in south Manchester

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of throwing a 'corrosive substance' at a man in south Manchester. Police were initially called to reports of an acid attack on Wilbraham Road on Saturday afternoon.

But following enquiries it is now no longer believed the liquid thrown was acid. Read more: 'We're living in a raw sewage and rat-infested hell - we fear for our kids' The victim, a man in his 20s, did not require treatment or suffer any serious or long term injuries.

A 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of throwing a corrosive substance with intent to do grievous bodily harm. She has been bailed pending further enquiries.
