There are certain similarities in the challenges that Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos have faced in the opening weeks of the new season.
Primarily, both have had to negotiate a nightmare injury list, especially in the backs. Wigan have been shorn of Dom Manfredi, Oliver Gildart, Liam Marshall and Jai Field, while Leeds have had to get through the opening rounds without Jack Walker, Harry Newman, Konrad Hurrell, Ash Handley, Rob Lui and Richie Myler.
Both have had to call on youth, and many positives can be taken from the performances from the likes of Umyla Hanley, who has started all three matches so far for the Warriors, and Sam Halsall, who scored his first try in their Challenge Cup win at York.
