Retailers Wilko and The Range have issued two urgent product recalls over some of this year's most popular Christmas products.

The stores have been selling a variety of festive cushions, shaped like gingerbread, penguins and reindeer. But it's now become apparent that they could pose a choking hazard to young children - with the risk of the pom pom and bow detailing on the gingerbread detaching and the filling being pulled out from the others. "This product is being recalled due to a potential choking hazard to small children should the pom poms become detached." The products come with the SKU number 076123 and batch number 53324.

The more recent recall, relating to the penguin and reindeer cushions, states: "These products are being recalled due to a potential choking hazard to small children should the seams tear and the filling be pulled out." The SKU numbers for these are 363504 and 363506.

Both notices state: "Remove the cushion from the reach of small children. Please return it to any Range or Wilko store for a full refund. "If you know someone else who has purchased this product, please ask them to return it for a full refund." The Range adds: "If you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Customer Care Team at https://www.therange.co.uk/contact/ "The safety of our customers is very important to us, and we wish to thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience."
