Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will break Mohamed Salah's Premier League record of 32 goals in a 38-game season if he scores against Arsenal on Wednesday night.
Haaland has enjoyed a special debut season at the Etihad Stadium so far scoring a whopping 48 goals in 42 appearances. The Norwegian has bagged 32 in the Premier League meaning he is tied with Liverpool's forward for the most goals scored in a 38-game season.
A further goal against league leaders Arsenal would see him surpass Salah and put another record in his sight. Alan Shearer and Andy Cole both hold the overall record for the most goals scored in a single Premier League season (34). ALSO READ: Rooney names City player who must win Ballon d'Or However, Shearer and Cole achieved their tallies when the division consisted of 22 teams, meaning they played 42 league games.
Including the midweek clash at the Etihad, Haaland has eight matches to try and secure both records for himself. The 22-year-old's form this season has been sensational and has even led to praise from Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney.
