Gomez, 21, came through the youth systems at Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund, making three senior appearances for the latter and spending time on loan at Huesca in Spain before joining Anderlecht last year for around £2m.
He has made 50 appearances for the Belgian side, who were managed by Vincent Kompany last season, scoring seven goals and registering 15 assists.
Now, he is reportedly close to completing a deal worth around £10m to join City, although he wouldn't be immediately required to solve their first team left-back issues.
