The rising cost of utility bills is a concern for many across the country, with lots of households taking measures to try and make cuts where they can.

READ MORE:Expert tips on how to delay switching on central heating as winter approaches In a bid to help aid households as prices spiral, Prime Minister Liz Truss announced earlier this month that the energy price cap this October would be limited at £2,500, rather than the initially predicted £3,549.

However, this will still be a large increase on the same time last year, with price cap set £1,277 in October 2021 - almost half of what it will be in 2022.
