The government has made it clear that May 17 is the earliest date the current ban on non-essential travel could be lifted - and is set to confirm this week whether lockdown will be eased as the roadmap sets out.
If England follows Boris Johnson's roadmap, people will be allowed to gather indoors in groups of six from May 17, and hospitality will be allowed to reopen indoors.
Ministers have said in recent days that there is nothing in the data to suggest that the planned easings will not be able to go ahead in just under two weeks.
