Officials have warned against falling for a WhatsApp scam in which fraudsters pose as children and family members to trick victims into sending over their hard earned money.
The Mirror reported that people have lost £50,000 to the scam in which criminals start conversations with "hey mum" or "hello dad" messages or a phone call in which they pose as their children.
