WGA Says It Won’t Picket Tony Awards After Ceremony Altered in Response to Guild Requests

They continue to refuse to negotiate a fair contract for the writers represented by the WGA. As they have stood by us, we stand with our fellow workers on Broadway who are impacted by our strike,” statement concluded.It’s unclear if the ceremony will be broadcast, given WGA’s statement.
But the event is still scheduled for Sunday, June 6 at 8 p.m. Eastern, with Ariana Debose as host.Earlier Monday, the Peabody Awards organization announced that the 2023 ceremony would be canceled.
