West Dunbartonshire is cheapest place in mainland Scotland to buy property

The average house price in West Dunbartonshire has risen by more than eight percent over the last year, however the area is now the cheapest in mainland Scotland to buy a property.Data published last week by chartered surveyors Walker Fraser Steele shows that the average price of a property in the area increased from £132,003 in September of 2020 to £143,566 in September of this year.The latest figures mean that West Dunbartonshire currently sits as the second cheapest location in Scotland to purchase property - ahead of only the Western Isles.Sizable rises in Inverclyde and East Ayrshire have seen it overtake West Dunbartonshire at the foot of the table.The local figure was well below the Scottish average house price of £212,832, with
