We tried some of Lidl's versions of everyone's favourite childhood snacks - here's what we thought

Lidl has become one of those supermarkets that is becoming synonymous with their own versions of popular branded items.Particularly for their food and drink, as multiple shoppers have noticed similarities between some products from the budget supermarket and brands such as Kellogg's and Nescafe.The own-brand vs branded has become quite the hot topic in recent years - which is why I have decided to wade into the territory with my own input.I decided to pick up some of the budget supermarket's versions of some my favourite childhood snacks that we all had in our packed lunch boxes growing up.Let's face it, if you had a packed lunch at school chances are it was filled with chip sticks, Dairylea dunkers a Muller Corner and so many more culinary delights.Yes, I know that there would have been a sandwich and a piece of fruit, but everyone was always more interested in the sweets.Let's face it, one of the best things about lunchtime at school was getting to see what you and your friends had in your packed lunches to see what you could swap over.

Quite frankly, checking out what I had in my packed lunch was the highlight of my school day.It was truly a simpler time. Which is why I headed to my local Lidl and picked up a few of their own-branded versions of some snacks which always remind me of playing at school with my friends.

Without further ado, this is how I got on...For our test, we decided to try out six of Lidl's own-branded items that were similar to Dairylea Dunkers, Smith's Chipsticks, Tunnock's Caramel wafers, Muller crunch corner, Kinder Beuno and Kinder chocolate bars.These were the Lidl versions I picked up.First up on the list was Lidl's own version of the childhood lunchbox staple, which I was quite partial to as
