Urgent search for missing Paisley pensioner who 'may have travelled to Argyll'

Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace a missing pensioner who vanished over 24 hours ago. Stephen Read was last seen in the Corsebar Road area of Paisley at roughly 8.05am on Sunday, March 5.

The 74-year-old is described as white, 6ft tall and of slim build with short grey/white hair and a beard.He speaks with an English accent and was last seen dressed in a beige jumper, a black leather motorbike jacket, black leather motorbike trousers and black leather gloves.

He also wears round, gold framed glasses.Renfrewshire police say there is a possibility Stephen may have travelled by bus to Inveraray in Argyll and are liaising with officers in this area.

Sergeant Mandy Gillespie, Paisley Police Station, said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to trace Stephen Read. Officers have been checking CCTV and searching the local area but so far no one has seen him in. “There is a possibility that he may have travelled by bus to Inveraray in Argyll.
