Update issued into death of man winched from his home

The cause of death of a man who was winched out of a property in Moss Side has been confirmed by a pathologist. Emergency services were called to Crondall Street on May 9 following reports of a concern for the welfare of a man.

A man in his 50s was later pronounced dead at the scene. Fire crews from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) attended to assist police officers - spending three hours at the scene.

An upstairs window to the property was later removed as fire crews lifted a body out of the address using a crane. A representative for HM Coroner's Court also confirmed that no further information will be made public. In a statement issued following the incident, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said there were believed to be no suspicious circumstances relating to the death.
