Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that as of May 17, the 'stay in the UK' restriction will be dropped, allowing people to visit 'green list' countries, including Portugal.
However the country's 'state of calamity' lockdown measures will now be in place until at least May 30. Guidance published on the Portuguese Government’s website on Thursday stated that ministers had approved the move to continue the current level of lockdown.
