Paul Pogba has been urged to leave Manchester United to get away from the criticism fired at him by fans and the English media.
The France midfielder returned to training on Monday having been sidelined for nearly three months with a hamstring injury. His time at Old Trafford hasn’t been the smoothest with some within the football community questioning his performances on the pitch compared to his off the field lifestyle.
Pogba has won two League Cups and a Europa League with United since his £95m move from Juventus in August 2016. But he has failed to win over a section of supporters and media, something which has prompted ex-Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor to encourage him to leave the club.
Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I don’t blame Paul Pogba (for wanting to leave). “Paul Pogba is always unappreciated by a lot of Man United fans. “Whenever he has a half-bad game, it’s Paul Pogba getting hammered, no-one else on the pitch gets any hammering off pundits or United fans. “Now Pogba’s been injured for a couple of months, you can’t blame Pogba for Manchester United’s form.” Agbonlahor then added that an Old Trafford exit would be beneficial to both Pogba and United.
