Taylor Swift

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Ukrainian artists' exhibition to be staged in West Lothian

An exhibition of work by two talented Ukrainian artists is being held this month.The exhibition - called 23.02 Ukrainian Voices - will feature photography by photo-journalist Vika Yasynska and digital artwork by Ira Andreichuk, both women are Ukrainian artists currently resident in West Lothian.The work will be on show at Livingston Designer Outlet from Monday, January 16 until Saturday 21 from 11am until 3pm daily.The artists are both resident in West Lothian at present.Vika is a photo-journalist from Kyiv whose black and white portraits series of Ukrainian soldiers and mothers portrayed with their sons photographs are on show.Much of these series of photographs were begun after 2014 when Russia annexed Crimea.Ira Andreichuk is an artist and graphic designer, in the exhibition her digital images, which she made in Scotland, express her personal reactions to what she witnessed in Ukraine when the invasion began in February last year.She visually records her memories of dark night vigils for local fallen soldiers, blackouts and regular visits to underground shelters.23,03 Ukrainian Voices was first shown in Ocean Terminal in Leith in 2022, it then was shown at The Chaplaincy, Edinburgh University.

The artists and organisers would like to welcome everyone along to see this moving account of life in Ukraine since 23.02 - nearly a year has passed since the invasion.An opening for the exhibition will take place at 2pm on Sunday, January 15.You can find it opposite Guess, beside the escalator.
