Ukraine gains world’s deadliest sniper from Canada to help fight Putin's army

One of the deadliest snipers in the world has arrived in Ukraine and pledged to take on the Russians as a volunteer fighter.

Wali, his nickname, has already travelled to Iraq on his own a number of years ago to help defeat the Islamic State. However, he has now crossed the border of Ukraine and has vowed to take on Putin’s army, after leaving his wife and son in Canada.

Wali served two stints in Afghanistan as a 'lethal' sniper with the Canadian Armed Forces in 2009 and 2011, and in the same combat battalion he was a sniper with an incredible 3.5km kill distance.

Last week Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky announced people who wishing to join the Ukrainian fighters would be welcome.
