It’s thought to be due to a new feature allowing 4,000 character tweets to be sent, significantly upping the previous limit from 280.
But it seems the latest big idea from Billionaire owner Elon Musk backfired with the app becoming unusable for countless numbers of tweeters.Manchester United vs Leeds United was the big game down south, but fans north of the border were also left wondering what was going on when Dundee and Raith Rovers promptly stopped sending updates for their SPFL Trust Trophy semi-final.
The Dark Blues stopped tweeting just after the last four encounters went into extra-time. The hosts had been 2-0 up before the Fifers staged a late fightback to force an extra half hour.And Ian Murray’s depleted squad got the job done on penalties.
