Tributes have been paid to a dad who died after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. Paul Marshall collapsed while out for a walk in Gee Cross, Hyde in December.

According to his family, members of the public rushed to help the 63-year-old, whose heart had stopped and had to be resuscitated with CPR and a nearby defibrillator.

An ambulance was called and Paul was taken to the Manchester Royal Infirmary where he spent just under 50 days in the cardiac intensive unit before peacefully passing away in the early hours of Monday (February 3).

A lifelong Manchester City fan who was affectionately referred to as, 'Marshy', Paul was a local taxi driver at the time of his death and was known for being a good storyteller, witty and kind member of the community who was known to stop and talk to people during one of his long walks in the Tameside village.
