Travellers will be able to end quarantine early - if they can provide a negative coronavirus test. The current isolation period for people arriving in England from countries not part of the government's travel corridor list is 14 days. From December 15, this can be by half if a negative test is provided after five days, Transport Secretary Grant Shapps has announced.Under the new rules, passengers who arrive from a destination not on the Government’s travel corridors list will still need to enter self-isolation.But they can reduce the 14-day period by paying for a test from a private firm on or after day five at a cost of between £65 and £120.Results will normally be issued in 24 to 48 hours.
