Steven Gerrard

Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.

He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,

Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.

Steven Gerrard has shown himself to be a bit of straight shooter. The Rangers manager normally answers a question on the nose and his proclamation that his side would be "active" in the transfer market certainly raised interest levels.

And that looks to the case after MailSport revealed Bournemouth pair Nnamdi Ofoborh and Jack Simpson have agreed pre-contract deals.

But Rangers are keen to get that double deal over the line and are also hot on the pursuit of Aberdeen winger Scott Wright. Strike pair Fashion Sikala and Juan Alegria also remain targets.

Crystal Palace midfielder James McCarthy with Tom Ince have been linked with Celtic but it's been a quiet window in Glasgow's east end amid their troubling form.
