Tommy Fury breaks silence on Drake $400k bet and Jake Paul 'excuse' for losing fight

Tommy Fury has spoken out following his split decision win against Jake Paul on Sunday night, criticising Drake for the $400k bet he placed on Paul to win the fight.

The fight saw the pair going the distance, with Fury boxing sensibly against the less experienced Paul, emerging as the winner of the fight despite being deducted a point for holding as well as hitting the floor in the final round.

Many had predicted that Paul would emerge victorious and he was even the bookies' favourite going in to the contest. One famous name who backed Paul to win was Drake, with the Canadian rapper posting a screenshot of the bet he made in the build-up to the fight, predicting that the American social media star would win by knockout.

In an interview with IFL TV, filmed at the airport before departing Saudi Arabia, Fury slammed the bet saying that Drake was 'silly' for backing Paul. Fury continued the interview by opening up about Paul's claims of illness and injury in the build-up, claiming that he did not believe him due to to positivity which had been coming from the American until the fight was over. "It is what it is, it wouldn't be my approach if I lost the fight," Fury said. "I'd say fair and square the better man won even if I had been ill.
