This Morning viewers have shared their dismay over a 'budget' fashion segment featuring items priced £100. Tuesday's episode of the hit ITV show saw hosts Rochelle Humes, who is stepping in for Holly Willoughby this week, and Phillip Schofield discuss dressing on a budget with Fashion Editor Amber Jackson.
Amber shared her picks from 2022’s new lines, choosing some items which she described as "wearable and affordable" and telling the hosts: "You don’t have to spend a fortune to stay on trend this year." But viewers disagreed, claiming most of the featured items were too pricey to be budget-friendly.
One garment in the section was a long black coat from Reserved, priced at £99.99. One fan said: "Yep, that £99 coat sure looks affordable and stylish(!)." Another person took to Twitter to add: "That wardrobe would cost you your electricity and gas bill!" A pair of black trousers featured in the segment cost £59 from Arket, but this was also deemed too expensive by some people watching.
A viewer tweeted: "People struggling to pay energy bills and #thismorning telling us £59 for a pair of black trousers is great value." The most expensive item was a pair of £100 boots from Topshop via ASOS.
