ITV staff are said to be "petrified" to speak out about the "toxic environment" at This Morning. The morning show has been embroiled in scandal recently following former presenter Phillip Schofield's departure, and subsequent confession to having had an affair with a much younger colleague.

Since Phil's confession, a number of people who have previously worked on the show have claimed there is a "toxicity" on set.

Dr Ranj Singh, who has left ITV and now works for the BBC, took to Twitter to share his experiences at This Morning, writing: "I was on the show for 10 years and I genuinely loved and valued working there. "However, over time I grew increasingly worried about how things were behind-the-scenes and how people, including myself, were being treated.

I didn't know the truth about what was going on with Phillip, but I do know the issues with TM go far beyond him." Dr Ranj added that when he reported his concerns to ITV he found himself being used "less and less", which led to his decision to leave the show.
